Logomark Symbolism

RenBio develops novel therapeutics and medicines. It’s core value is “Science for the benefit of humanity.” The founders are of Chinese decent and wanted to convey its Chinese roots along with its core offering.

The mark design is an abstract form inspired by a combination of the Chinese character for “man” or “ren” and the Y shape of an antibody. The mark can also be read as a combination of 2 “ren” characters to symbolize humanity.

The mark taken on its own, especially in one color, references the traditional Chinese seal, or chop, that is traditionally used in place of a signature.

Color Palette

The mark features a palette of blue, green and red-orange. Blue symbolizes speed and technology. Green symbolizes growth, efficiency and safety. Red-orange adds warmth, symbolizing RenBio’s belief in the “science for the benefit of humanity.” The dot of the i in “Bio” is highlighted to further emphasize this value.

Typeface

The typeface is a calligraphic, contemporary and highly readable serif font. Its clean shapes allude to precision and rigor. Although the font has a progressive feeling, serif fonts traditionally convey a sense of confidence, elegance and establishment. Here, it alludes to the extensive experience of RenBio’s co-founders.
